Responsibilities

Partner with facility leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives
Prepare, update, and communicate associate handbooks, job descriptions, and policy changes
Lead associate engagement survey follow-up and cultural improvement initiatives
Conduct HR audits to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
Serve as a trusted advisor to associates and leaders on HR policies and workplace concerns
Conduct impartial investigations and support disciplinary and termination actions with thorough documentation
Assist with workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work processes
Review unemployment claims and support facility safety programs and reporting
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations while safeguarding confidentiality and professionalism
Support collective bargaining activities and union grievance processes as directed
Supervise and mentor a Recruiter, supporting effective hiring and development practices
Oversee recruiting strategies, staffing plans, and pre-employment screening approvals
Negotiate and manage relationships with temporary labor providers
Maintain organizational charts, labor hour tracking, and workforce planning reports

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including unionized environments and grievance handling
Knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and organizational development
Excellent communication, decision-making, and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn new HR systems
Willingness to travel frequently and adjust schedule as business needs require
Collaborative, service-oriented leader with sound judgment and results-driven mindset

Preferred

HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP)
