Responsibilities

Maintain thorough understanding of current Kennebec Savings Bank business products and services. Escalate or refer complicated questions to management and vendors as needed
Serve as the Bank’s expert on the suite of electronic banking and payments-related products and services for business (for example: digital banking, Bill Payment, ACH origination, wire origination, business debit and credit cards, ACH and check positive pay, remote deposit capture, insured cash sweep and CDARS, lockbox processing, and merchant processing). Fully understand all business banking systems and serve as a proficient technical resource to communicate features, benefits and use to Bank staff and customers. Perform and assist with the onboarding of business account services for new and existing business customers. Ensure proper configuration, troubleshoot issues, and communicate with customers to resolve challenges
Process all incoming and outgoing ACH files, positive pay output files, end-of-month billing, and ACH returns and notifications of change. Strictly follow established timeframes for the posting of incoming ACH files as well as the review and release of all customer-originated outgoing ACH files to the Federal Reserve. Ensure the integrity of outgoing ACH files by reviewing exceptions and red flags
Serve as a member of a testing team for enhancements and releases to business banking solutions. Communicate important updates and changes internally and externally. Assist with the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing support of new or updated business banking products and services to meet business customer needs and support Bank strategic objectives
Coordinate with and assist Bank business account managers, business and commercial lenders, branch managers and business development staff to provide demonstrations of business banking products and services for existing and prospective customers. Collaborate to fully understand customer needs and assist in the development of effective business account proposals
Provide account services to Bank customers when needed. Appropriately and accurately open or refer new accounts. Submit applications for ATM, debit, and credit cards following established Bank policies and procedures. Perform general account maintenance as necessary to support business banking. Comply with all Bank and branch policies and procedures concerning customer accounts. Follow-up with customers regarding missing documentation
Maintain business account, card and services set ups, signers, users, roles, permissions, and agreements. Respond to business customer and Bank employee inquiries concerning business products, services, or account status. Ensure the Bank maintains strong and positive relationships with its business customers. Act as the primary resource to customers for all their business product and service questions, concerns, or needs. Communicate via telephone, virtually, email, mail or in person with an emphasis on being of service and value to the customer. Gain an understanding of each customer’s needs and concerns. Provide recommendations to assist customers and to grow their relationship with the Bank. Listen for “cues and clues” to determine needs and suggest and provide real one-on-one examples of “how to” access business banking products and services
Accurately record paperwork relating to customers in adherence to Bank performance standards. Maintain daily work in good order. Accurately maintain records of customer communications. Prepare periodic activity reports for presentation to the Manager, related internal teams, or Bank senior leadership as requested
Actively participate in community organizations and events. Represent the Bank in the community
Actively utilize as many Bank products and services as possible to fully understand their features and benefits and communicate effectively with customers and prospective customers. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality. Facilitate training of other Bank staff in all things relevant to the Business Banking Support Specialist position. Attend and participate in Bank meetings. Attend internal and external training to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the position. Required

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
1 to 3 years' experience in personal or commercial banking and general banking experience
Strong technology skills, with specific experience in business banking or bank core software desirable
Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications and the ability to learn new technologies required
Must have strong written and oral communications skills, including report-writing capabilities
Must possess a valid driver's license, the use of a serviceable automobile that is properly registered and proper liability automobile insurance as required by state law
Must be able to lift files and other documents of approximately 20 pounds
Must be able to read and work with printed reports
Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods of time
Must be able to spend extended periods of time working on a computer
Must be able use the telephone; must be able to communicate clearly by telephone and in person; must have good listening ability and skills
Must be able to prioritize and organize workflow; must have good attention to detail; must be able to handle multiple tasks
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Must have the ability to think through a problem, following proper steps in finding resolution
