Responsibilities
Loan File Preparation & Pre-Underwriting
Organize and review loan applications and supporting documentation
Collect, verify, and calculate borrower income and assets (salaried and self-employed)
Pre-underwrite files to ensure completeness and approval readiness
Disclosures & Loan Documentation
Prepare and review initial disclosures and loan itemization worksheets
Ensure timely and accurate delivery to borrowers
Internal Coordination
Communicate with processing, underwriting, compliance, and operations teams
Proactively address issues to keep loans moving efficiently
Client & Partner Communication
Serve as a key point of contact for borrowers, realtors, escrow, and title partners
Provide clear updates, answer questions, and deliver a high-touch client experience
Compliance & Guidelines
Maintain knowledge of FHA, VA, FNMA guidelines and investor requirements
Ensure adherence to regulatory, company, and underwriting standards
Team Operations & Events
Track and organize team metrics
Assist with planning and execution of team events, appreciation initiatives, and realtor-focused gatherings
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience as a Loan Officer Assistant or in mortgage operations
Strong knowledge of loan documentation and income calculation (W-2 and self-employed)
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mortgage systems
Customer-service mindset with a passion for teamwork and excellence
High school diploma required
