Donor Development & Strategic Partnerships Program Manager
Compatible Lands Foundation, Inc. is seeking a dynamic fundraising professional to serve as the Program Manager for Donor Development & Strategic Partnerships. This role involves cultivating and soliciting major gifts from donors and corporate partners, particularly in the defense industry, while also building strategic partnerships and leading fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities
Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, with a strong emphasis on defense contractors and related industries
Build long-term relationships with high-net-worth donors and corporate leaders who share an interest in conservation, national security, and community resilience
Develop and create tailored proposals and presentations that demonstrate the impact of CLF’s mission
Collaborate with the CEO, Board of Directors, and external partners to secure significant financial commitments from corporate donors
Forge partnerships with Department of Defense contractors, subcontractors, and trade associations to secure sponsorships, gifts, and collaborative funding opportunities
Serve as the primary liaison between CLF and corporate partners, ensuring alignment of brand, mission, and shared outcomes
Leverage defense sector networks to create new funding pipelines and elevate CLF’s profile within military and contractor communities
Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to set fundraising strategy and goals
Create and manage a portfolio of prospective donors, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship
Track donor engagement in CRM systems, maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, and provide regular progress reports and forecasts
Ensure compliance with donor recognition, reporting, and ethical fundraising standards
Plan, organize and host social events and fundraisers
Qualification
Required
Proven track record (7+ years) in major gift fundraising, corporate development, or donor relations—preferably involving the defense sector or public-private partnerships
Established connections or demonstrable ability to build networks within Department of Defense contractors, subcontractors, and related industries
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Experience creating compelling cases for support, sponsorship decks, or grant proposals
Ability to represent CLF's mission with credibility across defense, conservation, and philanthropic sectors
Bachelor's degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, or related field required
Preferred
advanced degree or CFRE certification
