Diesel / Heavy Equipment MECHANIC

Royal American Companies is seeking a Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a vast inventory of heavy construction equipment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills and the ability to work independently, with typical schedules requiring availability on weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Must possess practical skills and proficient knowledge to diagnose, repair and maintain a vast inventory of construction equipment
Repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, diesel equipment, including (but not limited to) trucks, tractors, and cranes
Perform equipment maintenance at the facility, as well as jobsites
Troubleshoot equipment problems including (but not limited to) mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components
Must exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
Must be able to work independently and deal with changing priorities
Must be able to travel in company-owned RAC vehicles, sometimes on short notice, to and from assigned job locations. Valid drivers license required

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years heavy equipment mechanic experience
Must be able to climb ladders
Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
Ability to work outside all day in the elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
Walking or standing without rest periods up to 2.5 hours
Repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, climbing, digging, shoveling, sweeping
