Mechanical Design Engineer III – SatCom

Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is a global manufacturer of electronic components and subsystems. They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer III to join their Design & Development Mechanical Engineering team, where the role involves delivering innovative mechanical solutions for antenna systems and radome products across the full product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Contribute to detailed mechanical design of assigned devices, components, or systems
Identify design issues and recommend corrective actions to improve performance and reliability
Apply established engineering processes and standards throughout the program and product lifecycle
Support development of engineering deliverables using approved tools, procedures, and methodologies
Analyze customer specifications, design requirements, and technical documentation to assess feasibility
Apply knowledge of relevant technologies, materials, and products to enhance design solutions
Demonstrate ownership of assigned design tasks and support project execution milestones
Perform additional related duties as required

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or product design
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo; experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and quality principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office and standard engineering software tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred

Experience with structural analysis tools
Prior machine shop or hands-on fabrication experience
