The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is offering a Governor's Summer Internship Program designed to provide college students with real-world experience in their field of study. The intern will assist the White River State Park events team with event operations, community outreach, and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

Assist events team with onsite event operations and logistics

Attend planning meetings with events team

Contribute to the marketing of WRSP and WRSP greenspaces

Participate in meetings with WRSP staff to collaborate on special projects and initiatives

Assist with community outreach initiatives and participate in outreach events

Plan and execute, under the supervision of event staff, a community outreach event

Assist in maintaining and developing relationships and partnerships in the Indianapolis community

Work occasional shifts in the park’s Visitor Center

Required

Must have a flexible schedule and be prepared to work weekends, early mornings, and late nights

Must be able to work outside, rain or shine

Demonstrate high level of integrity and timeliness

Experience working with the public in a customer service environment

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Detail-oriented and able to creatively solve problems

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate with an accredited post-secondary institution and have completed at least one (1) year of undergraduate education

Academic work in related field

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to analyze data sets related to discipline

Ability to build relationships, establish credibility, and influence leaders at all levels

Ability to conduct well-informed research

Ability to solve complex, critical problems

Ability to review and make recommendations on proposed changes to relevant policies and procedures
