Senior Research Specialist

The University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Senior Research Specialist for the Immunomodulation and Translational Research Program in NextGen Precision Health. The role involves conducting studies with novel biologics to modulate immune responses, focusing on preventing graft rejection and enhancing cancer immunotherapy.

Responsibilities

Generation and production of novel biologics which are the foundation of the program
Designing and conducting quality control of produced biologics and assessing immunomodulatory efficacy of various novel immune ligands as single agents or in combination for targeted indications (cancer and autoimmunity)
Contributing generation of humanized mouse models for testing the efficacy of lead protocols for prevention and treatment of autoimmunity and cancer
Perform immune monitoring studies using multiparameter flow cytometry, qRT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and in vitro assays for immune cell functional assessment
Analyze and organize data for detailed record keeping, grant and manuscript submissions
Supervising day-to-day laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, inventorying reagents, supplies and maintaining mice breeding colonies and equipment, and overseeing research lab maintenance and safety protocols
Mentoring and training graduate and undergraduate students, and technicians in experimental techniques, and data analysis
Preparing standard operating procedures, quality control of research reagents, ordering, and organizing the antibody& ordered reagents inventory

Required

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred

PhD degree in the immunology field, and minimum of 2 years of basic and or translational immunology laboratory experience
