Responsibilities

Develops and executes a risk-based global security strategy, including policies, programs, and procedures to safeguard Sysco’s physical assets, associates, customers, and reputation across all global operations
Serves as the primary advisor to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on physical safety, security risk, executive protection, insider threat mitigation, and crisis management
Leads the enterprise-wide approach to crisis and critical incident management, partnering closely with the CISO and other senior leaders to ensure a coordinated, aligned response across physical and digital domains
Fosters a strong global culture of security awareness and compliance through thought leadership, talent development, training initiatives, and enterprise-wide awareness campaigns
Acts as the Global Center of Excellence (COE) leader for enterprise physical security, establishing strategy and accountability through a data- and intelligence-driven monitoring and detection framework
Provides strategic and operational leadership for security across all Sysco facilities, ensuring consistent policies, standards, and programs are implemented globally while accounting for regional needs
Develops, maintains, and governs incident response, emergency response, and crisis management plans at the site, regional, and executive levels; leads periodic tabletop exercises and critical event simulations
Partners with the CISO and other internal stakeholders where physical and cyber risks intersect, including cybersecurity, data protection, and insider threat programs
Oversees prevention and response planning for workplace violence and insider threats
Ensures end-to-end supply chain protection, including asset protection across the full value chain
Leads global travel and medical security programs to protect employees traveling on behalf of Sysco
Oversees security investigations in support of Compliance and Internal Audit, utilizing trained investigators and appropriate external partnerships
Directs the Executive Protection Program to ensure the safety of Sysco’s senior leaders and Board of Directors, including global threat assessments for travel, meetings, and events
Manages internal teams and external vendors providing executive protection services worldwide
Builds and maintains strong partnerships with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and relevant security organizations
Leverages intelligence, analytics, and threat monitoring to identify emerging risks and proactively mitigate security threats
Leads both proprietary and contract security teams globally
Serves as the subject matter expert across security disciplines, driving asset protection, loss prevention, audit readiness, and compliance initiatives
Leads the global strategy for market-level operational shrink and asset protection teams, ensuring inventory losses are minimized across all warehouse operations
Oversees global investigations into inventory fraud, theft, and loss events impacting Sysco’s financial performance
Drives enterprise-wide shrink awareness and prevention campaigns to establish consistent expectations and accountability for site leadership
Analyzes global shrink data, write-offs, and reporting trends to develop action plans that reduce financial loss and improve inventory integrity
Provides governance and strategic oversight for the deployment of physical security technologies across Sysco locations to ensure effective asset protection
Leads the global strategy and execution of the Sysco T.I.P.S. program, investigating and validating reports of inventory integrity violations and asset theft

Required

Bachelor's degree required in Security Management, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of progressive, relevant experience
Prior in-house security experience is strongly preferred
Dedication to high standards of quality and ethics
Strong work ethic and team player with ability to connect with people and build trust
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally; must be proactive in providing counsel to clients
