Staff Engineer or Geologist

Responsibilities

Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling; drilling and contractor oversight; and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance
Chemical data and contaminant fate and transport evaluation
Well installation and aquifer testing
Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation
Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting
Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures
Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in geology or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering
Regular field work and overnight travel (up to 60%)
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing
Strong oral and technical writing skills
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel

Preferred

Advanced degree in the same
Geologist in Training (GIT) certification and a desire to pursue professional licensure, if applicable
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and a desire to pursue professional licensure, if applicable
Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology
Prior internship experience in environmental consulting
