Postdoctoral Researcher – AEM

The Center for Public Partnerships & Research is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to analyze and interpret Airborne Electromagnetic (AEM) Survey Data. The role involves working with AEM data to enhance understanding of groundwater management in the High Plains aquifer and requires strong technical skills in data modeling and analysis.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret data collected through AEM surveys of the three groundwater management districts in western Kansas
The three major areas of work will be 1) the inversion of the AEM data to resistivity, 2) the identification of the aquifer bottom from the AEM resistivity values, and 3) the transformation of the AEM resistivities to lithology
In all cases, estimates of the uncertainty in the final results will be needed so that the stakeholder community can better understand the confidence we have in those results
Disseminate findings through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications
It is expected that the individual will play a leading role in preparation of presentations and publications based on the analyses and interpretations of the AEM surveys
