This role involves representing lenders and borrowers in real estate finance transactions and managing multiple transactions while collaborating closely with senior attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities
Represent lenders and borrowers in real estate finance transactions, including acquisition, construction, and permanent financings
Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, mortgages, security instruments, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related documentation
Lead discrete components of transactions, including due diligence coordination, issue spotting, and closing execution
Analyze title, survey, zoning, and related real estate diligence materials and advise on risk mitigation strategies
Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, clients, and counterparties to advance deal strategy and execution
Manage multiple transactions simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and responsiveness
Apply strong negotiation skills to resolve legal and commercial issues efficiently and effectively
Qualification
Required
3–5 years (ONLY) of law firm experience focused on real estate finance
Experience gained at an AmLaw 120 firm
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
Active bar admission in New York or Illinois, in good standing
Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate complex real estate finance transactions
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in high stakes matters
Preferred
Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of deal execution
Meaningful client interaction and business development or relationship-building experience
Track record of increasing responsibility and leadership on real estate finance matters
Commercially minded approach to legal problem-solving
