Responsibilities
Engineer and maintain optimal performance and availability of customer AWS environments using IaC and automation
Diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide support for technical hurdles related to cloud systems
Work closely with IT stakeholders, developers, security analysts, and project managers to align infrastructure with business goals
Lead automation initiatives and provide guidance/mentoring to junior engineering staff
Create and maintain technical documentation for architecture decisions, automation processes, and compliance artifacts
Qualification
Required
Top Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
10 years of experience with a Masters or 14 years with a Bachelors Degree
3–7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, automation, or DevOps roles
Deep proficiency in CloudFormation or Terraform for repeatable deployments
Advanced knowledge of VPC peering, Transit Gateway, Route 53, and VPNs, including hybrid-cloud integration
Skilled in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, alongside tools like Ansible and AWS Systems Manager
Experience designing pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
Implementation of monitoring and logging via CloudWatch, AWS Config, ELK Stack, Datadog, or Splunk
Familiarity with Docker, ECS, EKS, and Kubernetes
Deep understanding of federal regulations including NIST 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Expertise in IAM policies, encryption, logging, and monitoring
Ability to assess and mitigate risks within cloud environments to ensure strict adherence to government requirements
Preferred
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
ITIL or PMP certifications
Experience specifically managing Kubernetes clusters in a production environment
