Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and set up the daily, weekly & monthly schedule for his/her time spent in the field and lab

Communicate clearly, immediate concerns or issues pertaining to product performance, products or customers' needs

Communicate clearly with the lab, through documentation, product development needs and coating performance requirements

Qualify coating modifications and product developments; working in the lab when necessary to verify through application and proper physical test requirements that coating parameters are met

Ability to communicate clearly on all applications and coating performance for training and education purposes

Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by management

Required

A four-year college degree or 5 years of experience in the Coatings and application-related field is required

Be able to work math problems with percentages and ratios

Must know the metric system for conversion

Be able to produce results with little direct supervision

Be able to operate Microsoft Office software

Have an in-depth understanding of the differences in products and applications

Must have a complete understanding of application equipment

Must have a complete understanding of coating systems

Must possess the ability to analyze & evaluate issues utilizing facts, processes, and identifying variables, then communicate clearly, verbally & in writing recommendations and possible solutions

Have a familiarity with solvents & additives and their correlations with coatings

Have a familiarity with testing parameters; KCMA, AWI, ASTM etc…

Be able to communicate between departments and remain objective

Preferred

Should have the ability to formulate colors (color test to be administered)
