Responsibilities
Review financial transactions for accuracy
Input transactions into the correct ledger
Reconcile bank and other accounts
Pay vendors as they come due
Complete required tax forms
Make deposits and record all cash receipts
Manage the office petty cash fund
Process company payroll
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business administration, accounting, finance or relevant field preferred
3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a virtual/remote environment
Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation)
Experience with common accounting and payroll software such as QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, ADP, Gusto, or Paychex
Excellent communication and math skills
Solid knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
Demonstrated ability to balance and manage large bank accounts and perform complex reconciliations
Familiarity with GAAP, tax filing basics, and compliance requirements
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data
Preferred
Certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper, QuickBooks ProAdvisor, or relevant payroll/bookkeeping credentials are a plus
Experience integrating bookkeeping with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon), payment processors, and cloud accounting APIs is desirable
