Production Coordinator

Fourth Floor is a well-established sportswear manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented Production Coordinator to join their NYC-based team. This role involves managing the production approval process and coordinating with vendors to ensure timely and quality production of womenswear products.

Responsibilities

Manage the fabric, trim, and color approval process from initial submission through final approval, ensuring all deadlines are met efficiently
Partner closely with the Design team to review and approve fabrics, trims, and colors in alignment with company quality standards and customer requirements
Communicate daily with overseas vendors, mills, and factories regarding submissions, approvals, rejections, and timelines to support on-time production
Track and monitor all approval milestones, lab dips, and submissions across multiple styles and accounts
Evaluate bulk fabric submissions for quality, hand feel, weight, stretch, color accuracy, and consistency across styles
Ensure color consistency and accuracy across multiple programs and retailers
Request lab dip submissions and enforce adherence to approval and production deadlines
Oversee and manage fabric testing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer testing protocols
Approve label layouts, including integrated hangtags, ensuring accuracy and brand alignment
Maintain organized seasonal libraries and filing systems for all fabric, trim, and color submissions
Provide clear and detailed instructions to vendors and mills regarding material submissions and revisions
Communicate approval updates and flag timeline risks or discrepancies to Production Managers proactively
Assist with quality-related issues by reviewing test results, identifying concerns, and providing corrective guidance to vendors
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Production, Design, Merchandising, and Sales to ensure smooth execution of production workflows

Required

Minimum 4–5 years of experience managing production approvals in womenswear, preferably within an off-price or high-volume environment
Strong understanding of the full product lifecycle, from development through bulk production
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with daily experience coordinating with overseas suppliers
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Familiarity with industry standards for fabric quality and testing protocols
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Full-time, on-site availability (Monday–Friday)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment

Preferred

Experience working with major off-price or mass-market retailers strongly preferred
