The Lead Café Coordinator prepares meals for patients, cafeteria, and special functions using proper production systems

He/She delegates daily assignments and responsibilities to café staff

In addition, the Lead Café Coordinator works with other employees with a team attitude; performing duties in a clean and organized manner

Ability to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes may be instituted according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts or weekends

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations

Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word

Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages

Preferred

Vocational / Technical training

Minimum one (1) year of food service experience in quantity food preparation/production in a hospital, extended care facility, or other quality food service operation

Previous experience in food preparation in a hospital
