Education Services Manager
Marion Health is a trusted healthcare provider in Grant County, offering advanced medical services for over 100 years. The Educational Services RN Manager is responsible for managing professional development and training programs for employees, overseeing compliance with regulatory standards, and ensuring the quality of organizational-wide training.
Responsibilities
Managing and supporting the assessment of Marion Health's professional development/training programs
Identifying and incorporating best practices and lessons learned into program plans
Reviewing evaluations of training courses, objectives and accomplishments
Making assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance
Managing new hire orientation, clinical orientation, annual and department mandatories, staff development and continuing education programs
Promoting self-improvement and development of staff, arranging speakers/external trainers, attending seminars/presentations, and teaching classes
Ensuring the quality of organizational-wide training through effective needs assessments and evaluations, course design, qualified instructors, training resource materials, learning reinforcement strategies and database maintenance
Managing Educational Services staff
Overseeing regulatory compliance, analysis and reporting requirements to ensure proper compliance with regulatory standards including CME accreditation and other regulations influencing the healthcare industry
Maintaining all classrooms, conference rooms, as well as instructional equipment and supplies
Scheduling appropriate meeting rooms and facilities both onsite and offsite
Managing educational tracking and compliance with regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current Indiana Registered Nurse license
Five (5) years recent nursing experience
Three (3) years of leadership, supervisory or teaching experience
BLS certification or must obtain during Orientation and prior to reporting to department
A professional level of knowledge of policies, governmental regulations and business practices pertaining to Adult Education
Excellent communication skills to effectively and tactfully communicate with patients and their families and guests, co-workers, managers, Marion Health Administrations, providers, consultants, business associates and regulatory agencies presenting a professional image as a representative of Marion Health
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to carry out duties in a professional manner, as well as the ability to work well under stress
Excellent time management
Ability to problem solve, multi-task in a fast-paced setting and work well in a team environment
Ability to negotiate effective working relationships and develop positive resolution to conflict
Highly developed computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and proficiently perform computer applications related to department operations and job function
Excellent customer service skills
Analytical and statistical skills to comprehend and analyze healthcare data and reports
High degree of accuracy with concentration and close attention to detail
Strong organizational, financial, leadership and administrative skills to manage multiple issues simultaneously combined with ability to effectively prioritize
Ability to meet deadlines and produce positive outcomes
Ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties
