Responsibilities
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain EPCOR’s multiple AMI systems to ensure reliable day-to-day operations that facilitate billing, water usage research, leak detection, and consumption analysis
Support the transition from AMR to AMI by assisting with deployment, integration, and validation activities across different AMI platforms
Establish and maintain data integrity controls to ensure accuracy of meter identifiers, account linkages, and internal dependencies across customer information systems
Compile and analyze water consumption data to provide actionable insights and support to operations, billing, regulatory, engineering, and other internal departments
Provide support to internal customers and departments by answering questions regarding AMI functionality, business processes, and proper use of meter reading equipment
Collaborate with software support personnel, meter shops, and field staff regarding account and meter information, testing and installation of records and software, monitoring and identifying malfunctions, and updating and maintaining systems related to customer information
Develop, review, and prepare documentation that supports training, manuals, procedures, or processes related to AMI and AMR transition activities
Monitor water consumption patterns and/or meter alarms for possible meter tampering, leaks, meter failure, or other anomalies. Assist with coordinating meter investigations, troubleshooting, and system activities with field personnel and supporting departments
Engage in other duties as needed that support EPCOR’s Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities
Provide after-hours support as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Five years of experience with utility metering
Five years of experience in business data analysis
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, project management, Power BI/Power Query)
Knowledge of data integrity practices including defining requirements, validation, and dependency management across utility systems
Basic understanding of water utility operations and utility billing
Ability to exercise judgment and plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada
Clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks is required
A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process
Candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions
Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required
