As a Financial Accountant, you will perform duties that impact the Company’s ability to deal with accounting issues, prepare financial statements, and assist with technical research on accounting matters.

Responsibilities
Executes monthly accounting close tasks for corporate close process of fully consolidated joint ventures
Prepares monthly financial statements including cash flow statements and variance analyses of fully consolidated joint ventures
Assists with technical research on accounting matters and drafts the Company’s position paper
Performs initial review of material contracts that primarily relate to the purchase of goods and/or services or the leasing of property by the Company
Prepares and reviews lease records within the lease accounting system for the monthly lease close process
Prepares and records lease-related journal entries, prepares lease-related reports and schedules
Assists with the review of newly issued and proposed accounting literature and other regulations, including analyzing their impact on the Company
Assists management with ad hoc requests
Qualification
Required
Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required
Bachelor's or higher level degree in Accounting required
2 years of experience in the following area(s): Accounting, equivalent Public Accounting, and or Auditing experience required
Preferred
CPA preferred
Masters or higher level degree in Accounting preferred
1 year of experience in public accounting firm preferred
