Responsibilities
Direct and supervise 2nd shift personnel (leads, operators, and general labor). Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and on-the-floor coaching
Meet or exceed daily production schedules. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with Maintenance to minimize downtime
Ensure 100% compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and SQF standards. Oversee critical control point (CCP) monitoring and documentation
Maintain a 'safety first' culture. Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all team members are using proper PPE and following OSHA guidelines
Facilitate a seamless 'pass-down' communication between 1st and 3rd shifts to ensure continuity in production and sanitation
Identify bottlenecks and implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve yields
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of supervisory experience in high-volume food/beverage manufacturing (USDA/FDA regulated)
Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and GMP standards; experience successfully navigating third-party audits
Proven ability to lead, train, and hold accountable a diverse team of 20–50+ hourly employees
Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for tracking yields, labor costs, and production variances
Deep understanding of OSHA compliance and a track record of reducing workplace incidents
Applied experience in Root Cause Analysis, 5S, or Six Sigma to minimize waste and downtime
Strong ability to manage the 'shift bridge,' ensuring clear data transfer between 1st and 3rd shifts
Ability to work on your feet in varied climates (dry/cold/wet) and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
