Responsibilities

Lead, review, investigate, and develops appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects and/or technical challenges within specific technical discipline and across adjacent disciplines

Actively align engineering efforts with the organization’s strategic goals and contribute to the development of long-term technical strategies

Communicate with others such that it leads to influence and change in strategy and execution. Clear and effective communicator to lay and expert audiences alike, and within the technical discipline

Consistently demonstrate exceptional technical skills and expertise, making significant contributions to complex projects

Identify and solve challenging technical problems, driving valuable outcomes

Actively participate in relevant industry events, conferences, training – staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends and recommending new practices or changes to programs based on state of practice developments

Lead, collaborate and influence site and/or project management regarding strategy and execution of engineering projects and in addressing technical challenges to ensure standards are met and improvements are implemented

Identify and promote opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, products or systems and evaluates opportunities in terms of readiness, suitability, and risk

Identify opportunities and provide input for strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas

Act as a mentor, coach and guide for developing talent to achieve objectives across multiple disciplines. Motivates peers and team members

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and ten (10) years of experience in related engineering field; OR

Master's degree in Engineering or related engineering discipline and eight (8) years of experience in related engineering field; OR

PhD in Engineering or related engineering discipline and six (6) years of experience in related engineering field

Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering

Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusion

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
