Director of Government Affairs
Grindr is seeking a Director of Government Affairs to lead our engagement with the U.S. state governments and support select U.S. federal and international public-policy initiatives. This role will report directly to the Head of Global Government Affairs and play a critical role in advancing Grindr’s policy objectives across a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute Grindr’s state government affairs strategy across priority states
Monitor, analyze, and influence state legislation, regulations, and ballot initiatives affecting Grindr, including privacy, online safety, HIV-prevention, LBGTQ family formation, and AI policy
Build and manage relationships with key governors’ offices, state legislators, attorneys general, regulators, and external stakeholders
Coordinate with external lobbyists, consultants, and trade associations
Provide timely analysis and recommendations to internal stakeholders on emerging state policy risks and opportunities
Serve as a skilled communicator capable of translating complex technical topics into clear, persuasive narratives
Support the Head of Global Government Affairs on select U.S. federal government relations efforts, including policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, and meeting preparation
Assist with international government affairs projects as needed, including research, briefing materials, and coordination across regions
Partner closely with Legal, Trust & Safety, Policy, Communications, and Product teams to ensure aligned advocacy and compliance strategies
Represent Grindr professionally with policymakers, industry peers, and advocacy organizations
Qualification
Required
8-12+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or political advocacy, with significant legislative experience
Demonstrated success influencing or managing state legislative or regulatory processes
Strong understanding of U.S. political processes, exposure to federal or international policy work is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to brief senior executives clearly and concisely
Sound political judgment, discretion, and ability to operate in sensitive environments
Commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and alignment with Grindr's mission and values
Preferred
Experience working in or with technology, digital platforms, or regulated industries preferred
