Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2026) (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Perform software engineering activities including but not limited to application development and maintenance, testing, integration, and documentation to ensure proper operation of the product within both factory environment
Adhere to accepted standards and processes for development, including participating in peer reviews, maintaining test environments & coverage, providing feedback for product improvements as well as working to ensure consistency in quality and performance
Will be working with the team supporting one of the program Product Owners executing the different facets of the program: sustainment and/or modernization
Will work within the Engineering Team to ensure the overall system execution is reliable, maintainable, and deployable while always meeting operational performance
Qualification
Required
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Preferred
Java experience
Unit experience
Configuration Management experience
Experience using Agile methodologies
Experience with Atlassian/Jira toolset for task management
Willingness to learn and engage with team
Experience using continuous integration tools
Linux command line, shell or python scripting
Experience with Test Driven Development
Elastic Stack experience (Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Log stash)
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Maven experience
Git experience
Automation tool solution experience (i.e. Ansible, puppet, or chef)
OpenShift/Kubernetes experience
Experience with Selenium
Experience with installing, configuring, integrating, troubleshooting, maintaining FOSS applications
RHEL certification
