Full Time Intake Office Assistant/ Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice, Amarillo

Frontpoint Health is seeking a Full Time Intake Office Assistant/ Volunteer Coordinator. The primary responsibility is to facilitate communication functions of the business office and provide clerical support while promoting the hospice mission and managing the volunteer program.

Responsibilities

Promote hospice mission, goals and philosophy
Demonstrate commitment, professional growth and competency
Demonstrate compliance with policies, procedures, regulations
Promote security and safety of Protected Health Information
Participate in programs and on committees as requested
Participate in ongoing education as required
Participate in all office functions and processes as assigned
Facilitate communications including EMR (if app), phones, mail, tracking of physician orders
Other duties as assigned
Provides volunteers per the Hospice patient’s Plan of Care
Collaboratively develops and maintains policies specific to the volunteer program
Demonstrates knowledge of, and ensues compliance with, all local, state, and federal laws relating to the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers
Develops the volunteer program through collaboration with the IDG and administration personnel
Promotes agency philosophy to ensure quality of care
Establishes a public relations program to foster good working relations with the volunteers and the community
Carries out other duties as assigned by the IDG
Assist with organizing and tracking medical records for referrals
Entering pt data into the EMR system
Maintaining admission packets
Assist with other clerical duties as assigned

Required

High School Graduate
One year general office experience
Excellent computer skills
Excellent organizational skill
Excellent phone skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Sensitivity to issues of loss and grief
Ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
Reliable transportation
Ability to work a flexible schedule and extended hours
Ability to travel locally
Prolonged sitting and some standing required
Occasional need to lift, pull, carry and push items weighing up to 50 lbs
Frequent need to stoop, kneel, and reach while assessing files
Requires work under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and employer and employee needs
Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Requires excellent problem solving skills
