Responsibilities

Assist in developing, executing and maintaining, data governance vision, strategy, roadmap, policies, and standards in alignment with corporate priorities
Develop a roadmap for D&IT information architecture, data strategy and governance that aligns to business goals
Advocate for and educate on governance capabilities in modern platforms (data catalogs, lineage tools)
Accountable for ensuring data, systems, and processes are aligned across Data Domains and systems
Translate enterprise policies into domain-level standards, procedures, and controls in alignment with enterprise data governance framework
Identify and prioritize Critical Data Elements (CDEs); define business terms, definitions, valid values, and data classifications
Curate and drive adoption of the domain business glossary, data dictionary, and reference/master data (e.g., code sets, survivorship rules); manage synonyms and usage notes
Ensure end-to-end lineage capture and certification from source to consumption; resolve lineage gaps
Coordinate with data owners and data custodians to establish data ownership and accountability within D&IT
Facilitate communication and collaboration among operational data stewards within their domain to ensure consistent data governance practices
Define and document business rules for data validation and transformation within D&IT critical data
Adopt and enforce data quality standards, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and secure within their domain
Monitor and proactively improve data quality, lineage, and security compliance, and report on performance metrics to the Enterprise Data Steward
Identify and document data issues, lead root cause analysis and resolution with relevant stakeholders
Manage and mentor a team of quality analysts, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in data quality monitoring

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
8+ years in data governance, data quality, or data management including experience in developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures
Experience with data lifecycle management
Experience in conducting data quality assessments and audits
Experience with data integration and data migration projects
Strong experience working with data catalogs, metadata, and governance tools
Ability to work with stakeholders to enforce data quality policies and standards
Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with data governance for a product-centric organization
Familiarity for ServiceNow capabilities for IT, including the data model and data layer
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations applicable to their domain

Preferred

Advanced degree preferred
Strong relationship-building skills
Proven success working in a highly matrixed environment
Strong bias for action and ability to deliver results despite a complex and fluid environment
Cultural bias towards continual learning and sharing best practices
Experience in a federated data governance model
Certification in data governance or data quality (e.g., DAMA CDMP, Six Sigma)
Knowledge of industry-specific data standards and regulations
Experience with data visualization tools
