Responsibilities

Work closely with ILI-Risk, Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Business Development, Gas Control, Land and Right of Way, Codes and Standards, and other departments to manage in-line inspections and remediation efforts and maintain and improve the integrity of the company’s pipeline infrastructure
Oversee multiple capital and maintenance projects, including inspection, testing, and repairs. Secondary responsibilities include pipeline construction, replacement, abandonment, and facility projects related to compression, automation, measurement, corrosion mitigation, and gas processing. Provide engineering support to operations as required
Develop scope documents, manage the bidding process, select contractors, coordinate permitting, and oversee contractor activities. Effectively prioritize workload between multiple projects and the ability to take on new projects and shift priorities on short notice
Generate project alternatives and cost estimates, secure project funding, track expenses, and complete project closure documentation
Apply company standards for safety, regulatory compliance, and efficiency. Review projects to meet OSHA, Kinder Morgan Engineering Standards, and Maintenance Procedures

Required

Minimum of 3 years of experience in pipeline integrity projects
Project management skills used in developing project documents (such as project scope, schedule, budget forecasting, cost tracking/analysis, and risk identification/mitigation)
Capable of communicating project information using well-developed written and verbal skills
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited University is preferred, or a minimum of seven years commensurate experience with emphasis in natural gas or petroleum pipeline design, project management, construction, maintenance, and repair may be acceptable in lieu of an engineering degree
Strong project management capabilities, including documentation, cost estimation, and risk management
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
Proficiency in pipeline fabrication and construction, blueprint interpretation, and safety-focused work practices
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software
Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work independently under minimal supervision
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurer
Capable of working outdoors in southwest U.S. climates with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Field activities will include assigned work in compressor facilities, on the pipeline right-of-way, and in meter stations
Periodically access excavation sites, climb ladders and stairs to elevated platforms/walkways
Extended periods of sitting may be required for administrative activities and driving to project sites
Must carry a cell phone and be available to respond during both working and non-working hours

Preferred

Understanding of pipeline in-line inspection tools and pipeline remediation and repair methods
Knowledge of applicable pipeline regulatory codes, compliance requirements, and industry / engineering standards (e.g., 49 CFR 192 [195], ASME B31.8 [B31.3], ASME / NACE standards, etc.)
Proficient in financial management and accounting, accruals, and estimation
Knowledge of pressure testing of natural gas pipelines
Knowledge of natural gas storage facilities and treatment processes
Experience with high pressure natural gas pipeline construction and remediation
Experience conducting pipeline MAOP studies
Experience in investigation and root-cause determination of equipment failures
Experience using AutoCAD or similar drawing software to prepare engineering sketches
Advanced computer and math skills
