Administrative Supervisor 2 - Vicinage Coordinator of Interpreting Services, Operations

Responsibilities
Set expectations and conduct performance evaluations
Mentor, coach, and counsel staff
Undertake progressive discipline, as needed
Recommend and conduct trainings
Monitor, evaluate, and track staff's schedules and time-off
Communicate processes, policies, and rules
Set goals and provide directions for interpreting and translation work
Prioritize and assign work to staff and freelance interpreters with the goal of providing optimal customer service
Utilize Judiciary systems to compile statistical and expense data
Set local procedures in line with statewide requirements
Attend quarterly VCIS meetings
Reconcile invoices received from outside interpreting agencies and interpreters for services performed
Ensure conformity with the Language Access Plan (LAP)
Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Perform additional duties as required
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in development, coordination, analysis, implementation, administration or research
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits
An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above –OR– a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above
Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations
Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey
