Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop sustainable manufacturing practices aligned with safety, ergonomic, and environmental standards
Design and implement equipment improvements for safety, quality, and efficiency
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce labor
Manage capital projects from approval through implementation
Oversee maintenance programs and lead root cause analysis for equipment issues
Identify and implement automation opportunities specific to the Yankton facility
Direct the Maintenance Department, including scheduling, training, and performance management
Coordinate with vendors for repairs, upgrades, and service agreements
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
Communicate effectively across all organizational levels and lead team collaboration
Travel domestically and internationally as required; occasional weekend work may be necessary

Required

Must have the skills to prepare a wide variety of engineering and maintenance reports and documentation
Understand and interpret policy, procedures, and technical documentation
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means
Work effectively with fellow employees and independently
Dependability under both supervised and unsupervised conditions; strong interpersonal skills
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug, and background test
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical experience

Preferred

Experience in Lean Manufacturing
Experience with MS Office products
CAD Software Experience (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
CMMS Software Experience (MaintainX)
Familiar with ERP Systems
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Project Management Experience
