Responsibilities
Evaluate and screen potential new client matters , including conducting initial client meetings, gathering facts, and analyzing liability and damages
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients , providing clear, timely updates and managing expectations throughout the life of the case
Develop and execute legal strategies , including investigating potential claims, driving all aspects of litigation, and collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff
Handle all phases of litigation , including drafting and filing pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, and representing clients in hearings, mediations, and trials
Drive timely case resolution , including negotiating with insurers and defense counsel, evaluating settlement offers, and maximizing case value
Meet revenue and performance targets , including contingent and/or hourly revenue goals contributing to firm profitability
Contribute to trial readiness and litigation posture , including preparing matters for trial from the outset of each case, and regularly trying cases
Maintain compliance and professional standards , including accurate case documentation, adherence to legal and ethical requirements, completion of CLEs, and participation in firm training and reviews
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the Ohio Bar
5 - 7 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury or business litigation on the plaintiff or defense side
Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from intake through resolution
Strong writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
Organized, proactive, and accountable approach to case management
Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and empathetically to clients
