The State of Ohio is seeking a 2026 Summer College Intern in their Office of Information Technology Services. The intern will assist with routine duties, project requests, and gain training in various aspects of information technology and geospatial data analysis.

Responsibilities

Use ArcGIS Pro and other GIS software to analyze geospatial data and fulfill mapping requests

Assist with the creation, maintenance, and reporting of Ohio EPA’s geospatial data

Participate in the development of map-based apps, such as StoryMaps, dashboards, and Experience Builder applications

Receive training in aspects of office and project coordination activities

Receive orientation to all program areas, including: Monitoring helpdesk email

Creating tickets

Dispatching technicians

Assisting customers with basic troubleshooting of computer problems

Follow up with customers and close tickets

Receive training in aspects of business logic for software projects

Receive training for automated software testing

Perform manual and automated software testing

Create bug tickets and follow up with customers using Jira software

Perform Regression tests

Required

MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN COLLEGE DEGREE PROGRAM DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION OR HAVE RECENTLY GRADUATED WITHIN THE QUARTER/SEMESTER IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE START DATE

Major area of study: data analytics, statistical analysis, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics and statistics

Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable

Skills in computers (word processing and database work)
