Responsibilities

Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant
Set up injection molding machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules
Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used
Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems
Startup machines and monitor quality at start up
Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately
Respond to Quality Assurance Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards
Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands
Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems
Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures
Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions
Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers

Required

Strong communication skills - verbal and written
Must be able to read and complete various forms in writing and on the computer
Possess or obtain a technical understanding of injection-molding processes and procedures
Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms
Good hand-eye coordination is required
Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask, if required
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception
Frequently works near moving mechanical parts
Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work as a cross-functional team member

Preferred

Prior plastic injection molding experience is highly preferred
Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
