AV Engineer I

The Colorado Judicial Branch is committed to providing equal access to justice and enhancing public safety. They are seeking an AV Engineer I responsible for the support and maintenance of courtroom A/V technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of A/V systems.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Manage and administer the Department’s A/V infrastructure and its associated equipment
Advise on the purchase of new A/V equipment and assist with its installation
Collaborate with all Department users concerning A/V system related issues and implement new technology solutions when necessary
Participate in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of statewide A/V and video conference systems, including electronic docket monitors, court reporting equipment, and video conferencing equipment
Maintain documentation for all instances of A/V and video conferencing equipment as it relates to maintenance, replacement cycles, and capital asset tracking
Manage various vendor-based system installations and service issues
Receive and respond to incoming tickets regarding A/V and video conferencing equipment/software issues, and occasionally requiring work to be completed outside normal business hours
Provide end-user training to Department staff on the operation of various A/V and video conferencing technologies
Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex A/V hardware/software problems in the courtroom and recommend and implement corrective solutions
Travel throughout the state of Colorado is required and employee shall be compensated for per diem and mileage according to the Department’s travel fiscal rules
Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and may be required to drive at nighttime and occasionally in inclement weather
Applicant shall attend meetings and training as required

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related area of study
One (1) year of recent experience in the A/V field
Knowledge of professional audio systems
Knowledge of digital video distribution systems
Knowledge of video conferencing technologies
Basic knowledge of data/telephone networks
Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware through device level interfaces
Ability to troubleshoot at the component and wiring level
Possess a valid driver's license
Ability to perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex A/V hardware/software problems
Ability to provide end-user training to Department staff on the operation of various A/V and video conferencing technologies
Ability to manage and administer the Department's A/V infrastructure and its associated equipment

Preferred

Self-motivated with limited supervision
Excellent customer service
Experience supporting and installing permanently installed AV systems inside of court setting or higher education
Experience supporting corporate or hospitality AV
Experience with QSC and Crestron control and video systems
Experience in an AV/IT construction environment (box walks, vendor management, cable pulling, AV hardware installation)
