Responsibilities
Defend attorneys, accountants, architects and engineers in malpractice and disciplinary proceedings
Draft pleadings, expert affidavits and dispositive motions in New York state and federal courts
Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, insured professionals and expert witnesses
Argue discovery, substantive and Daubert/Frye motions in court
First- or second-chair trials and evidentiary hearings in high-exposure professional liability matters
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active New York State Bar admission
Experience in professional liability or related fields
Strong litigation skills, including taking depositions and arguing motions
Ability to draft pleadings, expert affidavits, and dispositive motions
Experience in New York state and federal courts
Ability to handle first- or second-chair trials and evidentiary hearings
