Responsibilities
Lead development of our v1 product. Own the entire stack – Firestore, Cloud Functions, Auth, Hosting – using modern TypeScript and Firebase tooling
Collaborate with founders. Work in sync with founders/product management team
Lay down the engineering rails. Create coding standards, automated tests, CI/CD, and monitoring so the next hires can move fast without chaos
Turn loose specs into working software. Work side-by-side with the founders, sketch ideas, and push code to production in short cycles
Make serverless scale. Tune Firestore indexes, squeeze latency out of Cloud Functions, and keep cloud costs predictable
Own security and reliability. Harden auth flows, enforce type-safe APIs, and set up alerts before users notice issues
Recruit and mentor. Build the engineering team you want to work with, help foster a culture of craftsmanship, autonomy, and continuous learning
Qualification
Required
Founder, builder mentality. Obsessive sense of ownership, resourcefulness and clarity
Startup experience. Prior experience in early-stage environments where you had autonomy and impact
Technical depth. 5+ years of full-stack experience, proven ability to develop systems from scratch
Product-minded engineer. Relentless focus on user-friendly details, you sweat the details and balance quality with speed
Leadership potential. Strong communicator who is excited to code today and lead a top-tier engineering team tomorrow
