Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Irca Group is an International Leader in high quality finished and semi-finished ingredients for the bakery, pastry, and ice cream markets. They are currently seeking a Production Supervisor for their 2nd shift operations, responsible for leading direct reports to achieve production targets and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Lead direct reports to achieve shift production targets while maintaining a safe and efficient operation and producing products to established quality standards
Coordinate production activities with warehouse, maintenance, and quality control departments to achieve sustained efficiencies
Implement and comply with new and existing policies and procedures
Conduct personnel scheduling, regular visual line checks to ensure proper production, dating, labeling, and packaging of product
Review production paperwork, collect and track production data, and report information and variances to management
Analyze situations that arise outside of normal direct responsibility and make decisions how to proceed
Communicate with local regulatory, safety and health authorities in the event of a plant emergency
Identify operational needs; define approach, develop plan and implement plan; take action to address exceptional (non-routine) matters
Meet production plan; negotiate or justify any changes to plan
Lead process improvement efforts
Identify and manage the resources (people, materials, equipment and capital) needed for efficient production
Monitor and assess shift, crew and crew member performance
Manage relationships with internal support groups and with external resources
Identify and eliminate safety hazards; monitor crew member’s safety practices and adherence to policies
Delegate to Production Leads responsibility and resources needed to meet production goals; assign jobs to crew members if necessary
Evaluate crew members performance and progress and communicate that performance and progress to the leads and appropriate crew members
Coach and mentor Leads and help them empower crew members
Select, orient and integrate new employees
Advise Production Lead of technical problems
Monitor and approve employees’ time and attendance in Kronos & TriNet; submit employee’s status changes to HR in a timely manner

Required

Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university or equivalent applicable work experience
2-4 years' experience in a Supervisory role
Food manufacturing experience preferred
Understanding processes and mechanics of production line
Demonstrate leadership skills, training and development of others
Ability to multi-task and delegate functions
Display creative thinking and deductive reasoning skills
Possess proven written and verbal communication skills
Possess computer skills including Windows, Word and Excel
Familiarity with GMP, quality, and hygiene standards for food manufacturing
Physical ability to work in production environment with frequent bending, standing, stooping, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting required
