Responsibilities

Monitor an existing >$3BN portfolio of CLO Equity and Debt

Assist in the preparation of investment memos to facilitate the analysis of new investment opportunities

Review legal documents and track legal language with regard to CLO investments

Participate in the ongoing monitoring of the new issue and secondary CLO market

Work closely with Octagon’s portfolio managers and business development executives on new fund projects

Communicate issues with internal stakeholders related to investment and market examination findings

Support the development of technology-based solutions designed to improve internal recordkeeping, monitoring, and reporting capabilities

Help answer questions pertaining to investment activity, apply judgment in response to day-to-day questions, and follow up with solutions/process improvement

Proactively take on ad hoc projects and provide support for new business initiatives, as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree with 1+ years of relevant experience

Strong analytical and computer skills

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Ability to multi‐task, be proactive, work independently, and work effectively under pressure (often under deadlines and changing priorities)

Comfortable interacting and building relationships with all teams (including senior management) across the firm and affiliated organizations

Highly motivated, proactive team player with a positive attitude

Outstanding reputation of professional integrity and maturity

Ability to clearly articulate views and supporting data

Preferred

Strong understanding of CLO mechanics and documentation

Knowledge of programming (VBA, etc.)
