Business Development Representative

Responsibilities

Achieve and exceed new business acquisition and revenue growth targets
Conduct outbound prospecting through calls, emails, and other outreach channels to identify and qualify new leads
Reconnect with former customers to understand prior purchasing activity and present updated offerings, solutions, and value propositions
Research markets, competitors, and customer segments to identify new growth opportunities
Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects, documenting all activity and progress within the CRM
Conduct site visits or virtual meetings with potential customers to assess needs and present company solutions
Attend networking events, industry functions, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
Follow up on digital marketing engagement to convert interest into sales opportunities
Support customer tagging appointments for newly acquired clients as needed
Ensure accuracy in quoting, pricing, and delivery charge assessments
Provide nursery tours to prospective and returning customers
Participate in sales meetings and provide insights on lead generation, market activity, and industry trends
Assist with promotional initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and special programs to broaden customer reach

Required

Experience in sales, business development, or account management
Proficiency with CRM software (minimum 1 year required)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to prospect, cold call, and build relationships with new contacts
Consultative sales approach with strong problem-solving capabilities
Ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Willingness to meet clients on-site or off-site as required
Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
Understanding of—or commitment to learning—horticultural products and industry trends

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Horticulture experience (minimum 1 year preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Team-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
