Director of Development
Theatre SilCo is seeking a highly skilled Director of Development to lead their fundraising efforts. The Director will develop and execute strategies to build a vibrant patron and support base, working closely with the Producing Artistic Director and other staff to achieve financial goals.

Responsibilities
Leverage technology and data-driven tools (e.g., donor research platforms, CRM systems, ticketing databases, and emerging technologies such as AI) to inform fundraising strategy, prospect research, donor engagement, and reporting
Develop Theatre SilCo’s fundraising strategy and plan, including leading and overseeing all development and fundraising activities and building momentum for a thriving performing arts vision
Discover, build, and maintain corporate and community relationships, leading to new partnerships, sponsorships, and major gifts
Develop and implement specific strategic initiatives to meet Theatre SilCo’s financial goals
Identify and create opportunities for positive community interactions that build a strong public presence and collaboration
Collaborate with the PAD and Board of Directors to build strong engagement and alignment on strategic planning, major gifts, and $1,000+ donors
Oversee the creation and management of an annual fundraising budget, including managing expenses, providing forecasts and actuals, and measuring ROI
Manage the organization’s foundation and grant program, including prospect research, relationship-building, grant writing, submission, compliance, and reporting
Manage and organize overall development guidelines for all communication and collateral messages (visual and verbal) as they relate to all departments, committees, and aspects of Theatre SilCo
Coordinate with staff and any active Events and/or Community Outreach Committees to support fundraising initiatives (e.g., special pleas, unique asks, matches, etc.)
Collaborate with marketing and outreach staff on public relations strategies and donor branding strategies
Play an ongoing role in patron relations, including front-of-house tasks and participation in special events or programming as needed
Build strong relationships with patrons, sponsors, grantors, and the Summit County community
Leverage and optimize the donor database and related technologies; implement policies and procedures for staff communication, donor research, data integrity, and donor information management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization, ideally within the arts and culture field
Ability and willingness to work primarily in-office, with flexibility for occasional remote work
Strong alignment with Theatre SilCo's mission and vision, with the ability to convey a compelling story about the organization's work and impact
Strategic thinker and communicator with experience designing and implementing systems and fundraising strategies
Self-directed, performance-oriented individual with a demonstrated record of initiative and goal achievement
Comfort building systems and processes within a growing organization
Flexibility and a proven ability to innovate and find creative solutions to challenges
Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals, including strategy development and direct solicitation
Ability to build positive cross-functional relationships and work effectively with staff, board members, and volunteers
Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including individual donors, foundations, corporate partners, and community organizations
Commitment to high ethical standards and organizational transparency
Highly organized, energetic, and able to manage shifting priorities and multiple projects with professionalism and positivity
Interest in philanthropic trends, fundraising technologies, and applying best practices, including new and emerging tools, to Theatre SilCo's fundraising efforts
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
