The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking an Equipment Specialist in the South Atlantic Division, Jacksonville District. The role involves serving as the Maintenance Control Specialist and providing expertise in equipment management and maintenance planning.

Responsibilities
Serves as the Maintenance Control Specialist for the SAJ Floating Plant, multipurpose, and/or large single purpose projects including navigation locks, flood control structures, visitor centers, natural resources and recreation features, and other appurtenant elements at several locations
Serves as the expert on the use of the FEM system in the execution of the district and/or Project Maintenance Program, directly participating in the day to day and long-term life cycle planning and management of USACE assets within the AOR. Create assets in FEM. Enters, reviews, and closes out work orders for all FEM Assets. Inputs and tracks labor hours, materials, and contractor costs associated with work orders. Executes the Maintenance Management Improvement Plan within SAJ by meeting all deadlines required by SAD or HQ. Assists Asset Manager in the creation of reports on the status of assets in FEM
Provides technical advice, assistance and specialized equipment knowledge regarding the utilization, reliability, maintainability, repairability, accountability, authorization, disposition, and procurement within a major area of responsibility
Work requires the application of an intense practical knowledge of the characteristics, terminology, properties, and uses of a wide variety of equipment pertaining to the field and a general knowledge. Working knowledge of how to read and interpret user manuals and technical specifications for a wide range of vehicles and components
