Mechanical Engineer 2 - Marine Products
Garmin is a leading technology company specializing in marine products, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to join their Marine Product Team. In this role, you will develop moderately complex mechanical solutions, conduct testing and validation, and support the transition to mass production for various marine products.

Responsibilities
Complete moderately complex mechanical designs for Garmin or OEM products
Model complex parts as an expert CAD user
Collaborate and add value through participation in design reviews, providing comments and suggestions on mechanical engineering designs
Mockup and test basic mechanical systems to verify compliance with design requirements
Make estimates on tooling, part cost and design time for basic mechanical designs
Communicate effectively with vendors that produce custom mechanical parts as required
Specify test plans to validate moderately complex systems
Possess knowledge of injection modeling, die casting, sheet metal stamping, machining processes, etc
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preferred part materials for basic part production and performance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering AND 1 year relevant mechanical design experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrates knowledge of CAD software and the ability to model moderately complex parts (Solidworks or OnShape preferred)
Demonstrates proficient knowledge and utilization of relevant engineering tools
Preferred
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Electronic packaging design experience
Experience using SolidWorks or OnShape
Interest in boating, diving, fishing and being on the water
