SERVICS CLERK / FAMILY COURT
St. Charles County Government is seeking a Services Clerk to support Court Services within the Juvenile Office. This role involves performing various clerical functions, including data entry, document production, and file maintenance, under the direction of the Unit Supervisor and Family Court Administrator.
Responsibilities
Uses various tools, including the Judicial Information System (JIS) to produce court documents consisting of, but not limited to, the following: applications for orders, orders, petitions and motions, etc. for the Juvenile Office
Enters/corrects data in automated juvenile tracking system (JIS)
Exercises judgment in the modification of drafts to conform to standardized formatting
Creates new electronic files (or secures original file and attaches new referral) for all referrals and forwards the file to the appropriate Deputy Juvenile Officer for processing
Assembles and maintains electronic and paper files consisting of, but not limited to: referrals, correspondence, school records, medical reports, and such other written and electronic materials relevant to the juvenile and his/her referral and/or case
Supports the legal department in the entering of party, referral, and case information into the State of Missouri's automated tracking system (JIS)
E-Files legal documents
Completes correspondence and discovery, under the direction of the Family Court Legal Counsel, for the Legal Unit
Assembles and maintains paper files consisting of, but not limited to: referrals, correspondence, school records, medical reports, and such other written material as may be relevant to the juvenile
Answers and directs incoming telephone calls to the party requested or most appropriate party based upon information provided by the caller
Greets the public and provides what assistance is required given the nature of business with the Court
Performs such other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires graduation from a general or technical high school or the equivalent
Requires a minimum of five years' experience in a secretarial or clerical position, preferably a legal environment
Requires familiarity with community resources
Requires considerable computer skills in data entry, word processing and modification of standardized forms as necessary
Requires thorough knowledge of office procedure and practice for routing of referrals and/or directing callers or visitors
Must have and maintain a valid Driver's license and satisfactory driving record
