The Director of IT Mergers and Acquisitions will lead IT due diligence and integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, ensuring seamless technology transitions and alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities
Lead and oversee comprehensive buy-side and sell-side IT due diligence across critical domains for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; assess technology landscapes, infrastructure, systems, and risks, identifying key IT risks, opportunities, and required investments
Deliver executive-level due diligence reports with strategic recommendations, highlighting integration or separation challenges and opportunities
Direct IT integration and separation initiatives from planning through execution; develop strategic deliverables including current state assessments, entanglement identification, IT operating model definitions, synergy analysis, and day 1/post-close plans to ensure business continuity
Establish and manage program governance frameworks, overseeing project execution, risk management, issue tracking, and status reporting; ensure rigorous oversight and alignment with deal objectives
Collaborate with senior cross-functional teams—including the CIO, VP IT Strategy & Operational Effectiveness, business development, and IT leaders—to identify IT-related dependencies, risks, and opportunities, and proactively resolve issues
Facilitate stakeholder engagement through meetings and strategic presentations with executive leadership, integration teams, external advisors (legal, financial, technical), and clients; cultivate strong, trust-based relationships to ensure effective communication and satisfaction
Monitor and report progress on integration/separation milestones, technology portfolio management, and strategic outcomes to executive leadership
Recommend and drive technology rationalization and modernization, optimizing the application and technology portfolio to deliver measurable value and resilience
Support operational excellence by ensuring consistent processes for IT due diligence, integration, and divestiture activities; incorporate best practices and lessons learned into playbooks and templates
Contribute to the financial recast process by reviewing and identifying IT budgets to ensure alignment with current team allocations, making adjustments as needed to support the new organizational structure and business objectives
Estimate and help manage IT costs associated with collaboration and standardization phases of acquisitions, including budgeting for system harmonization, process alignment, and technology investments
Lead efforts to mentor and develop project managers and junior staff, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and high performance; encourage knowledge sharing and support professional growth across the team
Attend meetings in a hybrid work environment, collaborating in-person and virtually with stakeholders and teams across the enterprise
Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold a respectful and courteous work environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
Minimum eight years of recent experience in technology/business consulting and/or technology leadership, with a proven track record of leading IT transformations and advising on complex M&A transactions
Demonstrated success in leading global, high-impact IT-focused M&A projects with expertise in at least three of the following: system integration/separation, platform migration, IT architecture modernization, outsourcing of IT operations, or regulatory technology implementation
In-depth knowledge of post-merger IT integration, carve-out separation, process reengineering, offshoring strategies, and IT risk and compliance management
Proven ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams including advanced program management skills to oversee large, complex projects delivering strategic insights to executive audiences; comprehensive understanding of IT best practices and enterprise IT ecosystems, including major ERP and business application platforms, IT solutions, systems, infrastructure, and cybersecurity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence at the enterprise level
Analytical skills to solve complex business problems and design effective technology solutions
Preferred
Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies and driving business growth in the M&A space, including client relationship management and engagement in business development activities
