Education Program Director I

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is responsible for implementing the state's public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The Education Program Director I will provide technical support and training for Public School Units in managing high-quality Career and Technical Education programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements while collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Position will ensure alignment with state and federal requirements while providing local Career and Technical Education Administrators and Work-based Learning and Career Development Coordinators with the tools, resources, and guidance necessary to develop and deliver high-quality Career and Technical Education programs
Position will monitor work-based learning and career development compliance and statewide reporting of Career and Technical Education measures, such as course enrollments related to work-based learning, implementation of Career Development Plans, and local initiatives that support work-based learning and career development activities for students
Position will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to develop and implement work-based learning and career development initiatives statewide
Established rapport with practicing teachers, school personnel, administration and/or other education professionals

Required

Doctoral degree in education or in the special education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution, and two years of progressively responsible experience in public education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
A Master's degree in education or in the special education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution, and four years progressively responsible experience in public education
Experience as a NC CTE Regional Coordinator
