Responsibilities

Drafting & Negotiating: Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts with vendors, business partners, and other third parties
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with other attorneys to develop and maintain templates, playbooks, contracting policies, and negotiation practices
Risk Mitigation: Provide advice on legal and business risks, offering creative and effective solutions to mitigate them
Policy Development: Contribute to the evolution of contracting policies and escalation procedures
External Counsel Management: Oversee and manage outside counsel on select projects

Qualification

Required

JD from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to practice in New York (or eligibility for an in-house license)
8+ years of commercial contracting experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, including experience with technology, marketing, retail, licensing and brand partnerships agreements
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose effective solutions
A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates effectively with diverse teams
Diplomatic and clear communication skills to build strong partnerships across the organization

Preferred

In-house legal experience highly preferred
Experience in the beauty, retail, hospitality and consumer goods industries is preferred
