Database Analyst (Supply Chain Risk Management)

Responsibilities

Develop and implement data science solutions to analyze large and complex datasets related to supply chain networks
Deliver Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) solutions to our customers
Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive modeling to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential risks
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python leveraging data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
Query, manipulate, and analyze structured and unstructured data from databases (SQL, NoSQL, Hive, etc.)
Support data ingestion, processing, and visualization workflows to deliver actionable insights to government stakeholders
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of analysts, data engineers, front-end developers, and subject matter experts to deliver mission-critical solutions
Present findings through reports, dashboards, and briefings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Report progress and metrics to the Data Director and other senior stakeholders
Provide program, analytical, and acquisition management support to senior level MIB executives as required
Work with the MIB team, which is spread across the United States focused on workforce development/marketing, supply chain/sustainment, and technology developments
Interact with industry and senior leadership
Assist in drafting information papers in response to Congressional inquiries
Provide input to Report to Congress regarding MIB spend goals and associated return on investment
Contribute to the development of data-driven insights and analytic solutions that help identify, assess, and mitigate risks in complex supply chains
You will partner closely with Product Owners, the Data Director, and other stakeholders to maintain delivery cadence, transparency, and accountability
Interface with leadership and identify issues with little guidance
Develop and articulate business plans
Work with other companies to create statements of work with deliverables
Take charge and drive your plan to success and achieve actionable results that provide a return on investment

Required

Ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active or current DoD Secret security clearance
US Citizenship
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
5 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or applied machine learning or similar/related experience
A Master's degree and 3 years of hands-on experience in data science, logistics, analytics, or applied machine learning will be considered in lieu of Education and Experience
Strong proficiency in data science libraries
Experience with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) for querying and analysis
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical insights clearly
Strong communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills
Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral
Customer-oriented team player mindset focused on mission who is self-motivated, driven and can work independently and remotely
Ability to travel 10% of the time to locations such as Washington, D.C. as needed

Preferred

Background or coursework in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Risk Analysis
Experience with big data tools
Familiarity with government contracting or defense-related projects
Experience developing in Cloudera Data Science Workbench (CDSW)
Industrial Base/Supply Chain/Workforce knowledge
Experience/knowledge of the maritime industrial base
