Responsibilities

Define, evolve, and scale the agency’s social and influence strategy methodologies, grounded in cultural insight, platform intelligence, and measurable impact
Lead development of channel strategies, social ecosystems, influencer frameworks, and audience-driven content playbooks for agency and client brands
Serve as a senior strategic partner to account and client leadership, delivering POVs, trend readouts, and campaign recommendations aligned to overarching business objectives
Steer social and influence strategy across the full lifecycle: briefing, insight development, ideation, executional oversight, optimization, and performance analysis
Translate cultural and behavioral insights—particularly within Black and multicultural communities—into actionable social content strategies that foster meaningful connection
Partner with Creative leadership to ensure content is platform-native, culturally resonant, and aligned with brand identity and storytelling principles
Oversee community-building and engagement strategies, including conversation mapping, social listening, engagement frameworks, and reputation management
Identify real-time content opportunities, cultural moments, creator partnerships, and collaborations that strengthen brand relevance
Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks for campaigns and always-on programs
Evaluate channel and content performance using platform analytics tools, surfacing insights and strategic recommendations
Champion a test-and-learn approach, identifying optimization tactics and emerging opportunities
Evaluate content and channel performance using platform analytics and social listening tools, surfacing insights that inform strategic refinement
Champion a test-and-learn mindset, driving optimization and exploring emerging opportunities across platforms and creator ecosystems
Stay ahead of shifts in platform algorithms, consumer behavior, creator ecosystems, and cultural trends—translating insights into actionable strategies
Evaluate and recommend new platforms, technologies, and tools that enhance the agency’s social capabilities
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of social and influence strategists, content planners, and managers, fostering excellence, collaboration, and innovation
Contribute to agency-wide thought leadership; represent Burrell in client meetings, workshops, pitches, and industry forums
Help shape the broader strategic discipline, ensuring social and influence thinking is fully integrated across the agency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline
10+ years in digital and social strategy within an agency or brand-side marketing environment
Proven experience leading social strategy for large-scale campaigns, integrated programs, and culturally-driven work
Exceptional writing, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives
Deep knowledge of platform behaviors, content formats, analytics tools, influencer marketing, and community management
Demonstrated ability to inspire creative work and translate insights into actionable strategies
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
Passion for culture, creativity, and the role social plays in shaping how brands show up in the world
