Insight Global is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist to help grow their Automation services throughout Ohio. This role is ideal for someone passionate about SCADA programming, PLC/HMI development, OT networks, instrumentation, and control system design, and eager to continue expanding their technical skillset.

Responsibilities

Develop automation solutions with senior engineering guidance

Program, test, and commission SCADA/PLC/HMI systems (Rockwell, Schneider, Emerson, iFix, FactoryTalk, VTScada)

Configure SCADA servers, workstations, networks, and wireless systems

Build SCADA reports (Dream Reports, XL Reporter, Hach WIMS)

Perform FATs, field inspections, and support system startup

Create P&IDs, control architectures, specs, and design documentation

Support RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and PDR creation

Prepare O&M manuals and assist with proposals

Travel locally for client meetings, troubleshooting, and commissioning

Required

5+ years of automation/controls/SCADA or PLC engineering experience

Hands-on experience with major PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms

Experience with SCADA programming using one or more of the following: Rockwell RSLogix 500 / Studio 5000, Schneider Unity / EcoStruxure, Emerson Proficy Machine Edition, HMI platforms (GE iFix, FactoryTalk, VTScada)

Strong understanding of instrumentation & control system design

Good communication, documentation, and time-management skills

Preferred

Water/Wastewater project experience

Engineering or construction firm experience

Interest in leading Automation project work
