Responsibilities

Coordinate with test requestors and managers to prioritize analytical work effectively
Prepare and maintain chemicals, reagents, solutions, and laboratory equipment
Process submitted samples into forms ready for analysis (e.g., milling)
Perform dietary fiber, starch/sugar, protein, ash, fat, and moisture analyses using established SOPs
Operate routine analytical laboratory equipment and instruments
Troubleshoot instruments and escalate issues as needed
Accurately document and report testing results in laboratory systems and LIMS
Communicate results clearly and in a timely manner to stakeholders and management
Organize, retain, and purge samples according to laboratory guidelines
Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) to ensure safety, data integrity, and instrument performance
Assist laboratory management with operational support activities, including lab safety audits

Required

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Material Science, or a related discipline
2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data quality
Ability to manage priorities and meet required timelines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel and Word
Ability to learn new laboratory techniques and digital platforms (e.g., LabVantage)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain neat and complete records
Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and hazardous chemical handling

Preferred

Experience operating analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, or Ion Chromatography (IC)
Familiarity with food nutrient analysis, including dietary fiber, protein, and oils
Master's degree or higher preferred
