Business Development Representative - Capital Equipment

As a Business Development Representative, you will specialize in selling surplus equipment and managing client relationships, focusing on independent outreach and strategic prospecting to convert inventory into revenue.

Responsibilities
Conduct proactive sales outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to match inventory with qualified buyers in your industry vertical
Qualify inbound and assigned leads, developing them into sales opportunities. Negotiate pricing and terms on behalf of the seller and prepare order contracts
Supplement existing inventory by cultivating supply relationships—encouraging clients to list surplus assets and coordinating on-site listing as needed
Utilize EquipNet’s database of 700K+ contacts and third-party platforms like LinkedIn Sales Navigator to build and maintain buyer and supplier networks
Maintain a pipeline of active buyers, report on sales metrics, and identify market trends for leadership visibility
Qualification
Required
2+ years in capital equipment sales in consumer packaged goods, beverage, or related industries
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
Basic understanding of capital equipment lifecycle
Excellent verbal and written communication
Negotiation abilities
Self-motivation
Comfort working completely remotely
Proficiency with CRM tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Comfort navigating web-based sales platforms
Preferred
Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a plus
Preference for candidate residing in the West Coast region
